This is a Free Diving trip and the last stage of the class. We will be leaving the dock at 3:00pm
My diving company is called Hypoxic Hunters. I teach both freediving and spearfishing classes. I am also a competitor in both. We're also working with Northeast Neptunes to get more of the club members certified and teach them about the safety aspect.
Our biggest goal isn't just classes. Our goal is to show people how to do this sport safely and prevent all the accidents that's happening with uneducated freedivers, or ones that end up with improper training, and we're doing that to prevent any further accidents.
As an FII instructor, we have even designed a program called FreediveSafeHawaii. This is a nonprofit to help the locals in Hawaii who can't afford to do classes, but need to hunt fish in order to feed their families. Since the program has started, the amount of deaths in the first 6 months dropped from over 60%, down to a very very low single digit number, and that single digit number is the ones who still are uneducated. This program is also expanding rapidly.
The business currently running is myself, my girlfriend Kelly, and possibly my other assistant instructor. Kelly is our underwater photographer and already certified diver, as well as becoming our assistant instructor, and hopefully this year finishing her instructor course as well.
